Plenarföreläsning: From the margins of society to citizens

Wanjiku Kaime Atterhög, PhD, Uppsala University and House of Plenty Foundation. Wanjiku is the founder of House of Plenty (HOPE) rehabilitation group home and HOPE- Vocational Training Institute (HOPE-VTI) for vulnerable children and youth in Kenya. HOPE is a non-governmental organisation based in Nakuru, Kenya. It all started in 1997 when Wanjiku conducted her field research for her doctoral studies on street children and their caregivers in Kenya and established a rehabilitation group home together with the children involved in her research. In 2012, the House of Plenty expanded to include a vocational training institute and in 2014, a second vocational institute started in Uganda. Both institutes are sponsored by DGC, a Swedish internet service provider. http://www.houseofplenty.se
